Grouting Monitoring MB

MONITORINGmb

The MONITORINGmb device monitors grouting by one or up to eight grouting pumps.

The MONITORINGmb device is designed for larger grouting jobs, controlled from grouting centres.

Metered parameters:

  • Grouting pressure
  • Grouting mix flow
  • Grouting mix volume
  • Grouting time

Counted parameters:

  • GIN - Grouting Index Number
  • Penetrability

Indicated parameters:

  • Bursting pressure
  • Maximum injection pressure
  • Grouting pressure at the tip
  • Grouting mix flow at the tip

Grouting procedures

The MONITORINGmb device makes it possible to control grouting procedures with or without the sealing compound bursting at the étage and further in the regime of some criteria, such as maintaining pressure at a certain level for pre-defined period of time.

The MONITORINGmb device works in manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic regimes

Manual regime

All controls in this mode are through the operator and the MONITORINGmb device does not have to be connected to the control elements of the pump.

Semi-automatic regime

The MONITORINGmb device can independently indicate the bursting pressure and terminate the grouting process in this regime, if:

  • The maximum bursting pressure has been achieved
  • The planned volume of injection mix has been achieved

The MONITORINGmb device must be partially connected to the pumps’ control circuits in the semi-automatic regime.

Automatic regime

The MONITORINGmb device operates independently in full, based on parameters entered:

  • Maximum bursting pressure
  • Maximum grouting pressure
  • Maximum and minimum flows of the grouting mix
  • Maximum volume of the grouting mix
  • Maximum GIN

The MONITORINGmb device must be fully connected to the pumps’ control circuits and the pump must be equipped with control hydraulic electro-valves. Considering the fact that individual pumps may differ in their design, the correct program function of the MONITORINGmb device in relation to a specific pump must verified, before installation.

Data recording:

Data recording is done based on real time, most often every 1 – 5 s.

Display of metered parameters:

The measured parameters are displayed in the MONITORINGmb device in numeric values and as a time graph x measured parameter. The full grouting process may be monitored for its duration.

Planning and control of the grouting process

Planning and control of the grouting process is done through the TEC GR program as follows:

  1. Grouting parameters are entered for individual geological strata.
  2. Grouting path with étages is drawn, interface between geological layers is entered and the underground construction is drawn.
  3. Individual grouting areas, according to their placement, are assigned grouting parameters and the first grouting phase is set.
  4. The TEC GR program will subsequently process the information entered and will prepare a work order for each pump.
  5. The work order is recorded on the memory card, which is inserted in to the MONITORINGmb device.
  6. The operator selects drilling and étage and in case of automatic regime, after the grouting process starts, the MONITORINGmb device will continue the grouting process independently. The grouting process is recorded on the memory card.
  7. After the grouting process is ended, the data collected is transferred back to the TEC GR program, which brings up the grouting graphs.
  8. The TEC GR program operator prepares the second grouting phase, based on the results received and the whole process is repeated until the entire grouting job is finished.
